Safe Communities went through an internal strategic planning process and chose to update our branding to achieve more clarity and depth in our organization. Working with Hype Visual branding agency, the process began by involving stakeholders from across the organization. Hype took a high level look at the organizational landscape, differentiation and our position in the community while also doing a deep dive into our culture to refine our internal values.
Our brand personality was created to reflect our style, tone, voice, messaging and name. We clarified our name to amplify our identity. Dropping the geography associated with our name doesn’t change the work we do or our commitment to Madison and Dane County. We are Safe Communities, more concise, more clear, more accurate – now at safecommunities.org – with a new website coming next year.
We updated our brand slogan to communicate impact and collaboration, because we’re not doing this alone. The program names and stories were refined for clarity and consistency. Each program has a lead color and icon to improve recognition and communication. Going forward you will see us using multi-program branding to reflect the intersectionalities between programs.
Our personality radiates in our full color logo while honoring our history. We shared representation of the 4 core programs colors throughout our brand identity system. Our programming icon further shows the collaboration of our work and the intersections between programs. We have 3 core variations of our logo for a responsive identity that is flexible to today’s communication needs. You will see all of these in use because we are a dynamic organization preparing for a dynamic future.
We refreshed Safe Communities’ story for maximum impact, shareability and connection. Above all, Safe Communities cares about saving lives together.
